Maude Labs recently concluded a private dinner at Las Casas Quezon City with CB Communications founder Cris Gordon where an intimate conversation on building a personal brand was brought up. The Storytelling and Influence Night was part of The Gilded Escape retreat created by Maude Labs - the first luxury retreat for business leaders.
The importance of storytelling today

During the dinner series, Gordon shared about the recent acquisition of POPPI. POPPI, the now–well-known prebiotic soda brand, became a global success not only because of its product, but because its founder’s story was clear, human, and powerful.
The founder openly shared how gut issues affected her life, how she began experimenting with apple cider vinegar in her kitchen, and how that journey led to creating POPPI. The product became more meaningful because people became a part of its transformation.

“The why is the anchor of your story. When you get to know why it becomes the foundation of who you are and your brand,” Cris Gordon said to a room full of storytellers and leaders.
The Storytelling Dinner was held at Las Casas de Acuzar in Quezon City. Attended by both local and international guests, the venue offered the perfect atmosphere for meaningful conversations with its rich heritage and historical charm.
Cris shared the power of personal stories and how your story can become the heart of your business. Guests participated in an exercise where she guided them through reflection questions designed to help them shape a clear personal statement rooted in their experiences.
Two guests were then invited to do a live audit and training session, presenting their stories to the group. The moment unfolded into an unexpected space of vulnerability and connection. That is what storytelling does. By the end of the evening, the dinner had become a catalyst for authentic conversations and meaningful relationships among everyone in the room.
